The city of Bellingham is located in the Northwest corner of Washington State. Bellingham's formation, as a city, is very unique and intersting. There are 23 neighborhoods or districts within Bellingham and many of these have their own Neighborhood Association. These Neighborhood Associations are not homeowner's associations with dues and CC&R's. They are simply associations that interface with the City of Bellingham on issues that affect the quality of life in each neighborhood. Alabama Hill Neighborhood's hilltop location provides panoramic views of the city and Bellingham Bay to the west or awesome territorial views of Lake Whatcom to the east. Downtown Bellingham (Central Business District) this area is really thriving and has so much to offer anyone. Irongate Neighborhood. This is the industrial neighborhood of Bellingham. The Irongate Neighborhood is about 900 acres in size. It's located east of I-5 and north of Sunset Drive to the northern city limits. The King Mountain Neighborhood is located to the west and the Barkley Neighborhood is to the south. Irongate is zoned almost entirely for industrial development (821 acres) and is characterized by industrial and some commercial development (3 acres) in the Irongate industrial area and along Hannegan Road.
